Chase The Sun 5/10k

Wednesday 23rd August

Three days after completing the Two Tunnels Railway half, Anwen headed to London to compete in the Chase The Sun race at Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park. There is a 10k and a 5k race to chose from. Anwen, was originally booked in to the 10k, but due to unforseen circumstances (you know who you are!) had to change to the 5k at the last minute.

A great result though, finishing as 7th lady and 4rd in category. Well done Anwen!

Two Tunnels Railway Races

Sunday 20th August

Relish Running Races offer a series of races in and around Bath at this event, including the half marathon distance (which turned out to be a little more than that) which was taken on by Anwen and Bethan this year. The course includes, durprisingly, two tunnels! One of the tunels is a mile long! Causes havoc with the Garmin...

Half Marathon (ish)

2:28:16  Bethan Greenaway

Sticklepath Horseshoe Fell Race

Saturday 12th August

The second race completed by Simon on his holidays. He was 19th of 43 runners in the 9.6-mile Sticklepath Horseshoe Fell Race on Dartmoor, a BM (less severe) category race with 1,700 feet of ascent. He was first (and also second-last) in the M55 category, but finished 11 minutes behind an M60 runner! Still hardcore though!

Marylin's Meldon Madness

He was 13th of 55 runners in Marilyn's Meldon Madness (in a time of 49:25), a thrilling AS category race over five miles with 1,362 feet of ascent, climbing Yes Tor and High Willhays, the highest point on Dartmoor.
