Race Results - March 2018

Maidenhead Easter 10M - 30th March

Bethan Greenaway took on this "interesting" 10 miler, here are her thoughts:

My time was: 1:31:52

It was a very rainy, damp morning.  The race HQ was well organised, with the poshest portaloos EVER.

The beginning was a bit dull with a few laps of a business park but we were then sent out though some pretty villages surrounding Maidenhead.

Nice friendly marshals and plenty of water stations and an EXCELLENT snack table at the end (it’s all about the snacks #willrunforcake).

Apparently Theresa May was there but I didn’t see her so couldn’t tackle her about underfunding of sports and music in schools.

London Landmarks Half - 25th March

Three Harriers took on this inagural running of the london Landmarks Half Marathon. SOme thoughts from Martyn:

Julian, myself and Steve Buist took on the inaugural London Landmarks Half Marathon on 25th March. I met up with Julian and Sera (supporting) before the start. Flat course but with many turns, hairpins and out-and-back loops, there was plenty to see and hear along the whole course. Busy but great crowd and well-organised. PB for myself by 40 minutes(!) Also a PB for Jules (not sure for Steve).

5619    Julian Relton      - 1:58:37 (PB)

2366    Steve Buist         - 1:50:15

7031    Martyn Banham  - 1:44:47 (PB)

MK Festival of Running - 11th March

Danny and Claire took on the 10k and Graeme took on the Half. Both Claire and Graeme described the second half as extremely tough - possibly the hot weather had an effect! The hill towards the end up to the MY Light Pyramid was brutal - Claire managed to keep running but Graeme admits to walking it!

10k results:

78      -    45.42   - Danny Phillips

1209  - 1:19.28  - Claire Upton

Half Marathon Results:

1012 - 2:14.13    - Graeme Hackland

Teddy Hall Relays - 7th March

The 2018 Teddy Hall Relays took place at Oxford on 7th March 2018

Bethan reports:

We were a mixed team called ‘Scrambled Legs’

Total team time – 2:04:17

Lap 1 –Steve Frame – 29:23

Lap 2 – Anwen Greenaway – 33.17

LAP 3 – Bethan Greenaway – 35.42

Lap 4 – George Jackson (Bicester Tri) – 25:53.

It was a 4.3 mile course starting and ending at the Roger Bannister track, taking in some of the lovely spots in Oxford – the Thames tow path and Christchurch Meadows.  Lots of College and University teams took part but we didn’t disgrace ourselves by either being the slowest or the oldest in attendance!

Our team came 20th out of 42 Mixed teams.

A minutes silence was observed before the races began in honour of the late, great Sir Roger Bannister.

It was ACE and highly recommended if you can swing an afternoon off work!
