We are delighted that once again, Barry will support the Hook Norton Harriers by taking photos during the Hooky 6 this year on the 8th August
If you (or your parent/carer if you are under 18) do not wish your photos to be taken by Barry and published on his website https://www.oxonraces.com/photos/ then please place a large thick red cross through your number
Entries for the 35th running of the Hooky 6 are now OPEN
The Hooky 6 is a friendly, undulating, two lap, chip timed, 6 mile road race around the village of Hook Norton.
Last year’s race was unable to take place due to Covid-19. This year we are back but due to the ongoing pandemic this year's Hooky 6 will be a stripped back event. Currently we have no access to the Sports and Social club, this will hopefully move to limited access at least. We will monitor the government and UKA guidelines and amend accordingly.
Spectators are discouraged and we kindly ask for no gatherings before or after the race. Water stations will not be provided, please bring your own hydration. Coffee and cakes will unfortunately also not be provided due to restrictions. Goody bags have been removed as per current guidelines. Any awards received for age cats will be posted to the recipients after the race.
Despite this, we are really excited to welcome you back to Hooky and we are still expecting this year to sell out, so don't delay, get your place today!
Entry is exclusively online and can be found on the RunBritain website. You can enter, and find out more information about the race here: facebook - hookyraces and ENTER here: runbritain Hooky 6 race listing
The Closing date for online entries is Sunday 1st August, unless sold out sooner!
There will be no on the day entries or waiting lists. Stay tuned to our social media pages for more details - we are on Instagram and Twitter too!
It's with great regret that we have to announce that this year's Hooky 6 will not be able to go ahead due to the current Covid-19 pandemic. Following UKA Athletics & government guidelines it is not possible to hold our event this year.
We will keep you posted throughout the year with news regarding the Christmas Canter as and when we have any information that allows races to go ahead again.
Keep safe folks and we hope to see you all later in the year!
The 34th Hooky 6 race and fun run is complete! We would like to thank everyone who joined us this year. We really hope everyone who came along had a fantastic day. Enjoy your t-shirts and goody bags. We look forward to seeing you again next year. Don't forget that the race has become very popular over the last few years and we sold out over a month before close of entries this year, so if you're coming next year, book early!
Please, if you get a chance, go and review the race on RaceCheck (click this link). It's easy to do and free to sign up, and it's also a great resource for hunting out your next race! Good, bad or indifferent we love to hear what you thought of the race. We can't improve it otherwise!
